Tips for Planning a Small Las Vegas Wedding Ceremony

Las Vegas is known as a place that couples can run to when they want to have a romantic ceremony that includes just the two of them. It’s also a popular location where many brides and grooms plan a small Las Vegas wedding with an intimate group of friends and family, creating an unforgettable day with the people they are closest to. With that in mind, if you have decided to keep your wedding list anywhere from 0-30 guests, then you have come to the right place.

Always & Forever Weddings and Receptions has years of experience hosting small-scale ceremonies and wedding receptions, and can therefore provide you with essential tips on planning your special day. We know you’re eager to get started, so let’s dive in and figure out how to plan a wedding that includes just the bride and groom, or the happy couple and a close circle of friends and family.

Find a Las Vegas Wedding Venue that Hosts Both Large and Small Weddings

The first step in planning a small Las Vegas wedding is to find your dream location, a wedding venue that hosts small ceremonies, as well as large. You may be wondering why we are recommending finding a venue that also allows for large weddings when you’re planning a small intimate one. Well, we have heard stories of couples booking a venue that only provides small ceremony spaces, only to realize later they need to expand their guest list, and they end up desperately searching for another venue, and lose their deposit in the process.

Knowing this, you can imagine that it would be much easier to get situated with a wedding venue that can handle a wide variety of guest counts. In doing so, you won’t lose your deposit, and will most likely just need to pay a per-person fee for each additional guest, or simply upgrade your package to a larger tier, if needed. Always & Forever provides packages and ceremony spaces for 0 to 100 guests, so we are well equipped to meet your guest list needs.

Choose an Indoor or Outdoor Ceremony Space That’s Perfect for Micro Wedding

Select a Wedding Package That’s Designed for Smaller Guest Counts

When you’re working with the right wedding venue, you will find that there are many exceptional packages to choose from that cater to small Las Vegas weddings. To determine which package is right for your particular needs, you should consider the guest count, the location, and if you would like to plan a ceremony only event or an all inclusive affair.

Ceremony Only Packages

Many happy couples who would like to plan a smaller wedding decide to book a ceremony only package because depending on how many people will be attending, they may feel hosting a reception for only a few people may not make sense. Some will hold a wedding reception only event at their home, or simply go out to a restaurant to celebrate their marriage. If you are one of these couples, then dive into our wedding packages for smaller ceremonies to see which one is right for you and your wedding day goals.

Always & Forever Commonly Asked Questions

If you’re planning a small wedding, or perhaps a large one, we are here to answer all your questions. In addition to this, we know you may have a few inquiries regarding planning a small wedding in Las Vegas, so we are providing two common questions that may be useful to you.

I’d like to keep the wedding guest list small; how many people should I invite, and how do I decide who will attend?

Many brides and grooms can find it difficult to decide who to invite when shooting for a micro wedding. For example, you may have a coworker that you’re close to and would really like to invite, but then feel that other coworkers would feel left out if not invited also. This is just one small example of the difficulties in the filtering process. So, as you can see, it may take some thoughtful decision-making when coming up with your final list.

We suggest making three lists; one that includes all the must-haves such as immediate family like your parents and siblings, as well as your best friends, and the like. The second list should be all the guests that you would like to include if there is room, and place them in order of importance. The third list would include those who you would invite if this was a large wedding, but you would be ok if they did not attend. This might include coworkers you’re not that close to, other friends that you have known a long time but are not in touch with regularly, and extended relatives that you are also not in touch with often.

Once the three lists are completed, if you view them side by side, it’s easier to cross off individuals from the third list when you are also seeing all the must-attends and the people from the 2nd list that you really would like to come – it can put things in perspective as to your guest list count and who will fit into the available slots. Also, if anyone drops off your list because they are unable to attend, you have the next pending person listed, so you won’t have to think about it too much.

There really is no set number as far as how many wedding guests you should invite if you want to keep it small. To some people, small can be 50 people, but to most, it’s 0-30 guests.

What are the advantages of not planning a big wedding?

Large weddings are a must for those who have a big family, a very large group of friends, and many coworkers that will be offended if not invited. However, the guest list is not the only factor when it comes to deciding between a small and large wedding. With that in mind, if you’re on the fence as to whether or not to have a small wedding, it helps to look at all the advantages of not planning a big wedding.

  • When you plan a larger wedding ceremony and reception of 50 guests or more, it’s typically a more elegant affair. So, if you would like to have a more casual wedding, you may want to avoid inviting too many guests.
  • Small Las Vegas weddings can provide the opportunity to mingle with all your guests. In contrast, when having a large wedding, you may not have the time to speak with 75 to 100 people – one-on-one time can create special memories for you and your guests.
  • One of the most notable advantages of a micro wedding is the cost. As you can imagine, a smaller wedding can be more cost-effective than having a big wedding.
  • When you don’t have a big wedding, you can put the money that you save towards other things like your honeymoon.
